In a meeting with President Dr. Arif Alvi at Aiwan-e-Sadr Islamabad today, President, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Mr. Jin Liqun said that AIIB was fully committed to socio-economic development of Pakistan and informed the President that AIIB had decided to finance scores of development projects in line with the priorities of the Government of Pakistan. He further said that the current visit would help them understand Pakistan’s socio-economic needs and the priorities of the Government of Pakistan. Commending AIIB’s for its commitment to finance development projects in the country, President Dr. Arif Alvi said that investment policy of Pakistan had been designed to provide a comprehensive framework for creating conducive business environment for the attraction of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). He also appreciated the AIIB’s funding of US$ 100 million for M-4 Gojra-Shorkot Motorway and US$ 300 million for Tarbela-V Hydropower Project.
