A delegation of Citibank called on Mr Omar Ayub Khan, Federal Minister for Energy and Mr Nadeem Babar, Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Petrol at the Petroleum Division today.
Delegation led by Mr. Jim Scott, Head for Central & Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, Mr. Amine Ghedira, Director & Head of Corporate & Public Sector Solutions and Ms. Inga Tahadzjana, Sales Corporate & Public Sector Solutions. Delegation apprised the Federal Minister about operations of Citibank in the South Asian region with a focus on current and future plans in Pakistan. Delegation praised the progress of Pakistan as world's growing energy demand in economically, environmentally and socially responsible ways and role of Petroleum Ministry to meet the energy requirements of country.
Federal Minister welcomed meeting group and appreciated work plan of Citibank sustained cooperation with its domestic partners. The Federal Minister outlined the present Governments resolve to introduce reforms in the economy and energy sectors. He particularly stressed on the Government's focus to improve the ease of doing business in the country and the good progress that has been made on that front recently. Minister shared a brief overview of Pakistan's Energy mix and how the present Government plans to diversify and increase the share of renewables in the overall energy mix. Minister also shared proposed areas of investment in the energy sector of Pakistan. At the end of meeting, both sides hoped that such continued interactions would lead to mutually beneficial outcomes.
