The 14th Meeting of the 8th Wage Board Award held under the Chairmanship of Mr. Justice Hasnat Ahmad Khan at Islamabad today. Mr. Asif Zuberi, learned member stated that the reply to the questionnaire issued by the Chairman, Wage Board is ready but the same will be submitted / produced before the Board in the next meeting. It was further resolved by the Board that terms and conditions for appointment of Dr. Lubna Shahnaz, a renowned economist as Wage Advisor of the Board will be decided after a meeting with her by Mr. Nasir Chishti, another learned member of the Board. The issue of noncompliance of all the Provincial Information Secretaries to the letters dated May 14, 2019 following by subsequent reminders dated May 30 and July 5, 2019 addressed to them respectively by the worthy Chairman of the Board seeking complete data relating to government and government commercial advertisements of last five (05) years issued to national and regional newspapers was discussed. After discussing the matter at length Members of the Board were of the opinion that before issuing contempt notices to them they may be provided another opportunity to do the needful. It was further resolved that another reminder be sent to all the said Secretaries with an intimation to the Principal Secretaries to all the Chief Ministers and the Chief Secretaries of all provinces of the country. Next meeting of the Board will be held in PID Office Islamabad on 13th September, 2019 at 9:30 am for recording statements of the witnesses intended to be produced by the employers. Apart from the Chairman of the Board the meeting was attended by Messrs.
