Pakistan Mango Festival was arranged by the Mission to launch the “King of fruits” in Tunisiaon 24th August 2019. The event was held at a famous 5 star hotel “Movenpic Hotel”, Gammarth. It was attended by members of the Tunisian Chamber of Commerce & Industry, fruit importers, official guests from the local Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Municipality of Tunis and Gammarth, diplomatic community members, Pakistani community and local social contacts and media. Mr. MounirMoakhar, President of Tunisian Chamber of Commerce & Industry was the Chief Guest, says a press release received from Tunis here today. Speaking at the occasion, the Ambassador stated that although many countries produced mangoes, yet the Pakistani mangoes were the best in taste and aroma. There were different varieties of Pakistani mangoes. He hoped that with the signing of PTA between Pakistan & Tunisia, the availability of Pakistani mangoes in the Tunisian markets will become possible on a regular basis. The public reaction to the Mango Festival and tasting the fruit was overwhelming. The event planned for two hours lasted for 4 hours. The guest enjoyed the large variety of mango cuisines including chilled mango juice, mango milk shake and fresh mangoes as well as assorted bakery items prepared from mangoes. Many fruit importers expressed interest in importing Mangoes in Tunisia, which however, could not be materialized for being unaffordable by general public mainly, due to lack of direct shipping lines and heavy import duties in Tunisia. ***** ?
