Under the PM Clean and Green Program and directives, Tree plantation inaugural ceremony was held on Kashmir Highway , G-13 . Minister for Interior, Ijaz Ahmad Shah was the Chief Guest. The ceremony was attended by Chief Commissioner Islamabad, IG Islamabad, Officers of District Administration and volunteers from Islamabad Scouts. The Minister was briefed about the steps taken under Clean Green Islamabad initiative, which includes plantation of 10 lacs plants on self help basis by involving different sections of society. Audit of the plantation revealed survival rate of 70%. In the monsoon plantation, Islamabad administration intends to plant 10 lac more trees and plants , and during the inaugural ceremony , 10,000 plants are being planted . The Minister kicked off the campaign by planting the tree. It is pertinent to mention that the place of inaugural ceremony is a retrieved state land which was encroached since years.
