PR No. 74 FLAG HOISTING CEREMONY AT EMBASSY OF PAKISTAN CAIRO ON THE OCCASION OF 73RD INDEPENDENCE DAY OF PAKISTAN Islamabad, 14 August, 2019

An impressive flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Chancery premises to celebrate 73rd Independence Day. The ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mushtaq Ali Shah, Ambassador of Pakistan to Egypt and a large number of guests, including members of Pakistani community living in Egypt and media persons attended the event, says a press release received here today from Cairo. On this occasion, students of the Pakistan International School Cairo (PISC) gave a colorful performance of ‘Milli Naghmas’. Addressing the guests, the Ambassador said, the Independence Day was celebrated every year with traditional fervor but this year, we were saddened to see our Kashmiri brethren in IoK being subjected to illegitimate acts of usurping their political and economic rights through issuance of illegitimate decree that sought to change the special status of the Indian Occupied Kashmir. The government of Pakistan has therefore decided to celebrate the Independence Day as a day of solidarity with our Kashmiri brethren. He underscored that the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan was going through a process of reforms in the system of governance. The Government had eased visa restrictions on tourists. A new visas policy had been introduced which aimed to make Pakistan top tourist destination. A Special supplement was published in leading English Newspaper Daily Egyptian Gazette on the occasion of 73rd Independence Day of Pakistan.
