Ministry of Climate Change and Worldwide Fund for Nature Pakistan (WWF-Pakistan) signed MoU to strengthen Clean Green Pakistan Movement. Mr. Irfan Tariq DG Environment from Ministry of Climate Change and Mr. Hammad Naqi Khan, Director General/CEO, WWF-Pakistan signed the agreement for collaboration. Advisor to Prime Minister on Climate Change Mr. Malik Amin witnessed the signing agreement. In order to implement Clean Green Pakistan Movement in letter and in sprite it is prerequisite to aim further their common objectives of environmental improvement and nature conservation in the country, including initiatives of the Government relating to Clean and Green Pakistan Movement, Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Program, Recharge Pakistan and WWF`s New Deal for Nature . WWF in collaboration with Ministry of Climate Change (MOCC) will align the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Program of Government of Pakistan and Trillion Tree initiative of WWF International, support the Recharge Pakistan Program, including getting GCF funding. MOCC will facilitate WWF-Pakistan`s plantation campaign through identification of Government owned lands, public spaces/other suitable sites and providing support during plantation and post-plantation care. Through this partnership, WWF Pakistan will also support in drafting appropriate legislations for promoting ecotourism through standardized protocols. It is mutually agreed that WWF and Ministry will initiate joint campaigns on “Ending Plastic Pollution”, “Plastic Waste Recycling”, “Promoting Plastic-free Cities”, and “Tackling Smog through urban forestry, reducing industrial air pollution and vehicle emissions in large cities. WWF will fully support the 10 Billion Tree Tsunami project under this memorandum of understanding. Furthermore, the Advisor to PM said that Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Program will have global impact and will play a key role in Trillion Tree initiative of WWF International. ***** ?
