PR No.182 *Chairman Saudi Shura Council called on the Prime Minister of Pakistan* Islamabad: April 25, 2019

Prime Minister Imran Khan received H.E. Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Ibrahim Al Sheikh, Chairman Saudi Shura Council and members of his delegation in his office today. The delegation is on a 3-day visit to Pakistan on the invitation of Chairman Senate. Welcoming the Chairman and his delegation, the Prime Minister underscored the importance of Parliamentary exchanges between the two countries, for greater understanding of each other’s legislative systems. He noted with satisfaction the recent developments in Pakistan-Saudi relations, particularly the landmark visit of Saudi Crown Prince, HRH Muhammad bin Salman in February this year. He greatly appreciated HRH visionary leadership and resolve to put Saudi Arabia on the path of modernization. He also expressed the hope for an early release of Pakistani prisoners in Saudi Arabia, as promised by the Crown Prince during his visit. Prime Minister Imran Khan reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and security of the Kingdom and sanctity of Harmain Sharifain. He conveyed his best wishes to His Majesty King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman. H.E Dr. Abdullah Mohammad Ibrahim Al Sheikh conveyed the greetings and best wishes of Saudi leadership to the Prime Minister. He expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him and members of his delegation by the Government of Pakistan and expressed his commitment to continue working for closer and deeper links between the parliaments of the two brotherly countries.
