PR No.168 VISIT OF FEDERAL MINISTER FOR EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL TRAINING TO NAVY CADET COLLEGE ORMARA AND JINNAH NAVAL BASE ORMARA Islamabad: April 24, 2019

Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Mr. Shafqat Mahmood, on the special invitation of Deputy Chief of the Naval Staff (Training and Evaluation), paid a day long visit to Pakistan Navy Cadet College Ormara and Jinnah Naval Base Ormara. Upon arrival at the Ormara Airport, the dignitary was received by Cdr Jinnah Naval Base, Cdre Syed Faisal Hameed SI(M). Cdre Jamil Akthar SI(M), Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Education) also accompanied the Minister. Upon reaching Pakistan Navy Cadet College Ormara during first leg of his visit, the honorable guest was received by Principal Pakistan Navy Cadet College Ormara, Cdre Masood Ul Hassan SI(M) who briefed the honorable Federal Minister about the establishment of the Cadet College, available facilities, different training schemes in general and N-Cadets Scheme for Baloch Cadets in particular. Moreover, honorable guest was also appraised about the historic success ratio of cadets of pioneer batch of Pakistan Navy Cadet College Ormara in ISSB in 2018 upon which the Federal Minister praised the steps taken by PN in the remote areas of Balochistan for uplift of the poor populace. Mr. Shafqat Mahmood visited academic and accommodation blocks of the cadets and interacted with the cadets during refreshments. Taking advantage of the occasion, Assistant Chief of the Naval Staff (Education) highlighted establishment of educational institutions by Pakistan Navy in Ormara, Turbat, Gwadar and Jiwani and also various schemes of Pakistan Navy aimed at facilitating Baloch students like provision of free education and boarding/lodging facilities to Baloch students at Karachi, newly constructed Hostel at Ormara for needy Baloch students and Chief of the Naval Staff Sponsor a Child Scheme. Honorable guest also visited PNS DARMAAN JAH that is hospital of Pakistan Navy that provides free Medical facilities to local populace (including checkup, medicines, surgery and hospital admission etc.). Federal Minister also had a familiarization visit of Jinnah Naval Base Ormara. At the end, Mr. Shafqat Mahmood lauded the services being rendered by Pakistan Navy for Baloch populace in particular in the fields of Education and health and its efforts to bring them in national mainstream. ?
