President Dr. Arif Alvi has said that CPEC has made Pakistan an important destination for global trade and investment. He added that the Government attaches great importance to the socio-economic development. The President said this while talking to a delegation of International CPEC Workshop organized by NDU at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Thursday. The President stated that development of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) is an important part of the Phase 2 of CPEC i.e. Industrial Cooperation, for which public-private collaboration must be enhanced. He underscored the importance of skilled human resource for SEZs and CPEC-driven industrial activities in Pakistan. He underlined that a million jobs will be created over the next 10 years, our workforce is required to be prepared in this regard. Pointing out the latest developments that CPEC and BRI are bringing in the region, he emphasized that such conferences and workshops provide the platform to deliberate upon and prepare for the emerging opportunities and challenges. The President appreciated NDU and OBORtunity for organizing the CPEC workshop and assured them support in their future endeavors.
