Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reform Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar has said the incumbent Government is committed to undertake structural reforms to accelerate and sustain economic growth adding that corrective measures are being taken in this regard. The Minister was talking to Country Director, World Bank, Mr. Patchamuthu Illangovan, who called on him in Islamabad on Thursday. Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan and senior officials of the ministry were also present on the occasion. During the meeting, Mr. Illangovan apprised that the World Bank is launching the report ‘Pakistan@100’ that discusses options for Pakistan to increase its economic growth in the medium term. He informed the Minister about key features of the report which proposes policy interventions for transforming Pakistan into a progressive and prosperous country. He further apprised that the report will be launched on 18th March. The Minister also highlighted the main contours of 12th five year Plan which envisages stabilizing the national economy and transforming the country into an emerging economy.
