Federal Minister for Defence Production Zubaida Jalal today visited National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) Haripur. The Minister was briefed about the working and equipment produced at NRTC. Managing Director NRTC said that major communication and security equipment was being produced indigenously at NRTC. On the basis of research and development, NRTC had been able to develop world class products in Defence and Commercial Communication which saved not only a lot of revenue but also added to the exports of Pakistan defence industry. The minister was briefed that communication system using fibre optics, solar solutions, and latest software techniques were upgraded and built at NRTC. The Minister was further briefed about latest technologies being used for the development of RFID number plates and Safe City projects. The Federal Minister stressed that it was a matter of pride to have defence industries producing low cost and high tech equipment to cater local and export needs, adding such an approach was highly beneficial for Pakistan Defence Industry. She expressed satisfaction over the enhancement and re-engineering of all the products using research and development. ***** ?
