PR No. 262 HEALTH MINISTER SAIRA AFZAL TARAR MEETS TURKISH HEALTH MINISTER TO DISCUSS HEALTH COLLABORATION. Islamabad

Minister for National Health Services Saira Afzal Tarar held a meeting with Turkish Health Minister Prof. Recep Akdag on the sidelines of World Health Assembly in Geneva. The Turkish health minister said we are brothers and there is a need to further strengthen partnership between the two nations. He shared Turkey’s collaboration in working with the Government of Punjab. Minister Saira Afzal Tarar shared major initiatives being undertaken by the federal government in taking forward the health sector in Pakistan. She said we can learn from Turkey’s experience to improve efficiency and health service delivery. The Turkish minister said performance based payments made a major difference in improving health delivery. He said there was public private partnership in procurement in Turkey.

Turkish Health Minister offered all out support for health collaboration with the Ministry of National Health Services and the provinces.
