Delegation of World Health Organization led by Dr Nima Saeed Abid, acting WHO Representative in Pakistan called on the Federal Minister for Human Rights Dr Shireen M Mazari here today. Besides Dr Maryam Mallick, Technical Advisor WHO, Secretary Human Rights, Rabiya Javeri Agha and other officials of the Ministry were also present on the occasion. They discussed matters relating human rights including the Disability laws. On this occasion, Minister said we are committed to safeguard the rights of our citizens and through comprehensive strategy; efforts are being made in this regard. She said besides implementation of existing laws we are also working on devising new legislation including the Rights of Persons with Disabilities adding that protection of human rights was the top most priority of our government. Delegation appreciated the efforts of incumbent government especially the Human Rights Ministry for the steps which have been taken for the protection of human rights.
