To mark the 71st Independence Day of Pakistan, an impressive flag hoisting ceremony was held at the Embassy of Pakistan, Dakar (Senegal). The event started with the recitation of Holy Quran. Mr. Shams-uz-Zaman, Charge d’ Affairs a.i. hoisted the flag with the national anthem of Pakistan, says a press release received from Dakar, Senegal. The messages of the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were read by the Charge d’ Affairs a.i. Both the President and the Prime Minister paid special tributes to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and our other ancestors for their struggle to achieve separate homeland for the Muslims of Sub-Continent. In their messages, they also felicitated the nation on this happy occasion. The Charge d’ Affairs a.i. thanked the community members for attending the ceremony along with the families. He expressed the hope that Pakistan would remain successful in its efforts to get rid of the menace of terrorism. He also highlighted and condemned the brutalities and atrocities of the Indian occupied forces against the innocent Kashmiris and urged the community members to project Kashmir issue as they can. He also found the opportunities to appeal to the Pakistani community and other locals to contribute in the fund for Diamer Basha Dam and Mohmand Dam. A large number of Pakistani community members and locals along with their families from Senegal and six other concurrently accredited countries attended the flag hoisting ceremony. ***
