PR No.91 PAKISTAN AND BELARUS HAVE GREAT INVESTMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN AGRICULTURE AND RELATED SECTORS. Islamabad, April 10, 2017.

He was welcoming the high powered Belarusian delegation visiting his office today. The delegation was headed by the Federal Minister for Agriculture and Food, Belarus and Chairman, House of Representatives, Belarus.

There are a huge number of opportunities for investment and bilateral trade in sectors of agriculture, poultry, agricultural machinery and processed food items between both countries. Both the countries excel in their unique expertise in variety of agriculture related areas. We can definitely avail from each other expertise.

Both the heads of delegations agreed on strengthening business to business interaction and join interest of relevant sectors. At this point, the Federal Minister for National Food Security and Research also informed this Belarusian counter-part that current Pakistan Government has lowered import taxes on agricultural items and related machinery to 5% as compared to the initial 43%. This has led to a very favourable business environment for foreign investment at reasonable prices.

The Belarusian delegation also visited National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC). They were surprised to see the level of research being done there and were please d to be shown all these facilities
