All out efforts are being made to run Islamabad International Airport operations and systems to optimum efficiency. The newly opened airport is fully operational since May 3, and teething issues are being addressed on priority basis, said the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority, here on Monday. Flight operation started on IIAP on 3rd May and at the same time flight operations were also in progress at BBIAP. “Despite the fact that smooth transition took place from old airport, there were certain teething issues at new airport. Teething issues always occur when new project starts, but these issues are being addressed on priority in collaboration with all stakeholders including airlines, ASF, ANF, Ground handlers, Customs and other operators at new airport. Regular functional control meetings with all stakeholders are being held by the airport management, the PCAA said in a statement. In this regard, Aviation Division is also closely monitoring the operation of the new airport. On first two days passengers did suffer certain issues and delays in the baggage delivery. Therefore, any inconvenience to passengers, in this regard is regretted. Pakistan CAA is taking concrete measures, in shortest possible time, to ensure safe, smooth operations and best services to passengers at newly opened airport. ***** ?
