Capacity building of employees plays a pivotal role in success of any department. Being a progressive organization, NH&MP give equal importance to capacity building of its employees. Considering its importance NH&MP has taken an initiative of capacity building of all cadres. NH&MP organized a capacity building workshop for National Highways & Motorway Police Zonal Public Relations Officers at Headquarters, Islamabad. Media has an outstanding role in creating and shaping public opinion and strengthening society. Media plays a significant role in keeping all updated about the various events around the world and involves the collective communication sources or mediums including television, radio, newspapers, internet, social media sites and various relevant sites and blogs. The main purpose of media is to disseminate information and knowledge. Inspector General, NH&MP Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam, DIG (O&E) Ghulam Rasul Zahid, Deputy Director General Press Information Department Manzoor Ali Memon, Director General Licensing Broadcast Media PEMRA Wakil Khan, Senior journalist Fozia Shahid, Senior journalist Bushra Taskeen, Senior journalist Ammar Masood, Senior journalist Zalmay Azad, Creative Marketing Consultant Abbas Balgrami, Zonal Public Relations of NH&MP from Karachi, Quetta, Lahore and Peshawar also attended the workshop. The Inspector General, Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam while concluding the workshop appreciated participation of officers in the exercise carried out under supervision of the DIG Ghulam Rasul Zahid and addressed the participants as well. IG Dr. Syed Kaleem said that National Highways and Motorway police have always maintained the standard of road safety in Pakistan which is also always acknowledged worldwide. He said that he is committed to create the supremacy and enforcement of law on motorways. The road user/driver would automatically adopt traffic rules and regulations once he would enter on national highways and motorways across the country. While lauding the services of media, he requested media to step forward for this national cause to create awareness on road safety so that the lives of the people, especially youngsters could be saved. He also said that all the departments must share their best practices to achieve the target of accidents free carriageways in future. In the end of the workshop the IG, NH&MP distributed shields among participants. ***** ?
