At the invitation of Brigadier General Amir Hatami Minister of Defence & Logistics of Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran Rana Tanveer Hussain Federal Minister for Defence Production, Science & Technology leading a high-ranking defence and Science delegation, visiting Iran. Rana Tanveer Hussain Federal Minister for Defence Production, Science & Technology and his delegation paid respect at the Mausoleum of the distinguished founder of Islamic Revolution of Iran, Imam Khomeini. Minister and his delegation also held meetings with Vice-President of Iran and Minister of Defence & Logistics of Armed Forces. Minister of Defence & Logistics of Armed Forces of Iran and Minister for Defence Production of Pakistan reviewed the bilateral relations and discussed the possibility of cooperation between the defence industries of the two countries. The two sides also signed a joint statement after the discussion on bilateral issues. Referring to the statement signed with his Iranian counterpart, he said it shows Pakistan is deeply interested in expansion of defense cooperation with Iran and seeks new mechanism for formation of joint defense cooperation committee with Iran. Pakistani side while thanking the Iranian side for warm reception and hospitality, extended invitation to actively participate in the Defence Exhibition IDEAS-2018 and also extended invitation to Minister of Defence & Logistics of Armed Forces of Iran to visit Islamabad which the Iranian side thankfully accepted.
