Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training, Engr. Muhammad Baligh Ur Rehman chaired the 8th meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI’s) sub-committee on matters pertaining to higher education and other similar bodies in post-18th Amendment scenario at the committee room of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Punjab Minister for Higher Education, KP Minister for Higher Education, Additional Chief Secretary Higher Education Department, government of Sindh, Executive Director Higher Education Commission (HEC), Secretary Higher Education, Punjab, Special Secretary Education KP, Additional Secretary government of Balochistan, and Additional Secretaries of Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, and Inter-Provincial Coordination.Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed joined the meeting on video link from Lahore. The meeting held detailed deliberations on the proposed bifurcation of the HEC powers and functions and provinces in post-18th Amendment Scenario. Representatives gave their inputs on role and responsibility of federal and provincial higher education bodies, powers and functions in line with 18th constitutional amendment. Issues were deliberated in detail and certain progress was achieved. ***** ?
