Rana Tanveer Hussain Federal Minister for Defence Production, Science & Technology today met the Iranian Defence Minister Brig Gen Amir Hatami and held discussion on issues of mutual interest. Earlier Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain arrived at Imam Khomeini International Airport. Deputy Minister for International Affairs Brig General M. AHADI received the Minister and his delegation.

Referring to the close brotherly relations between Pakistan and Iran, Rana Tanveer Hussain highlighted the great potential which exists between the two countries in various sectors including defence.

While reciprocating, the Iranian Defence Minister Brig General Amir Hatami emphasized that close relationship between Pakistan and Iran could contribute to the stability of the region. He also called for the greater exchange between defence establishments of the two countries and to explore opportunities for cooperation in defence industries.

Federal Minister also visited the Export Promotion Centre of Iranian Ministry of Defence where he was briefed about the potential of Iranian defence industry.
