A delegation from the Republic of Belarus led by Hon'ble Mr. Igor Brylo, Deputy Minister of Agriculture & Food arrived at Islamabad for participation in the One Country Exhibition and 4th Session of Joint Working Group (JWG). The Exhibition was organized at Islamabad on 15th November, 2017. Mr. Sikandar Hayat Khan Bosan, Federal Minister for NFS&R inaugurated the Exposition and urged the representatives from Business Houses of Belarus and Pakistan to frequently interact with each other during the B-2-B sessions. The Minister further informed that Pakistan has a surplus production of mangoes, citrus, nuts & dried fruits, besides sugar, wheat and rice. He also pointed out the need for local production of Belarusian agricultural machinery in Pakistan for provision to our farmers on competitive prices.

          Mr. Fazal Abbas Maken, Federal Secretary Ministry of NFS&R while welcoming the Belarusian delegation to Pakistan informed that the Governments of both countries are striving to create an enabling environment for establishment of Joint Ventures between the business groups. 

          Mr. Igor Brylo, Deputy Minister from Belarus thanked the Government of Pakistan for a warm welcome. He said that the two governments are taking steps to promote bilateral cooperation including economic cooperation on mutual interest basis.

          After the inaugural session, the dignitaries and other participants visited the stalls of Belarusian and Pakistani agricultural products including halal meat, poultry, dairy products, citrus, edible oil, dried fruit, rice and veterinary medicines. In the afternoon session, the B-2-B interaction facilitated by the Trade development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), Animal Quarantine Department and the Department of Plant Protection was arranged.

          The Belarusian delegation also called on the Federal Minister for NFS&R in the evening to reiterate the importance of bilateral relations and thanked for the support of the Government of Pakistan in promoting bilateral cooperation in the field of agriculture.

          Fourth session of Pakistan and Belarus will be held on 16th November, 2017 to agree upon future areas of cooperation in various areas in the field of agriculture.
