Tobacco – Smoke Free Islamabad Project, Capital Administration & Development Division (CA&DD) achieved compliance of tobacco control laws at Islamabad at maximum level. This Project will be the model for other provinces and districts of Pakistan. Muhammad Aftab Ahmad was addressing to SAARC Tobacco Control Leadership Conference at Kathmandu, Nepal. Participants much appreciated the Smoke Free Islamabad Model. Maldives and Bangladesh learnt from the model of tobacco – smoke free Islamabad. Participating in the debate, Capt. Waqas Rasheed said that, we require more advocacy and coordinated efforts to engage and mobilizing the political support on tobacco control.  Mr. Sajid Hussain Shah, PRO to Health Minister, Pakistan told that, in Pakistan, all places of public work or use and public service vehicles are 100% tobacco smoke-free. Recently, Minister for NHSRC Saira Afzal Tarar has requested the provincial Chief Ministers to issue necessary directions to the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with the tobacco control laws in best public interest, as enforcement responsibility lies with provinces.
