PR No. 106 MINISTER FOR WATER AND POWER CHAIRS MEETING ON FINALIZATION OF AMENDMENTS Islamabad

Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif chaired meeting to finalize amendments in the Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Electricity Act, 1997 (ActXL of 1997) in line with the decision of the Council of Common Interest(CCI). The meeting was participated by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Mr. Pervaiz Khattak, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Chief Secretary Punjab and officials of the Ministries of Water & Power and Finance.

The meeting took into consideration the proposed amendments in detail. All the participants gave their inputs and the amendments were agreed upon after necessary modification/ improvements in the language .

The Federal Minister for water and Power thanked the Chief Minister Sindh and Chief Minister KPK for their keen interest in the matter. He appreciated them for their active participation in the process. He said that the government is committed in building consensus on matters of national importance.

The Chief Minister Sindh and Chief Minister KPK also thanked the Federal Minister for Water and Power and assured their full support on matters of national importance.

The meeting ended with vote of thanks from the chair.
