The Ministry of Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage is organizing one day national seminar on “Transparency in Public Sector; An Appraisal” to be held tomorrow, December 30th at Marriott Hotel Islamabad. The inaugural session of the Seminar will be presided over by the Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting & NH, Senator Pervaiz Rashid. The Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar will deliver the concluding address in the Seminar.

The participants will include diplomatic corps, academia, civil society, national and foreign media. The participants would be listening to the detailed presentations by the secretaries of the federal ministries of Water and Power, Petroleum and Natural Resources, Railways, Chairman Privatization Commission, Chairman National Highway Authority and Chairman Pakistan Telecom Authority. The Officials will present an exhaustive account of the developmental activities in their respective domains with emphasis on specific measures taken to ensure transparency in their undertakings.

The presentations will follow with an appraisal and evaluation of the steps of the government regarding transparency by the eminent experts and critics on these issues.
