PR No. 255 Deck Reception Held On Board Pakistani Navy Visiting Vessel Islamabad: December 29, 2015

The Pakistan Navy hosted a reception onboard one of the ships of its visiting fleet here this evening says a press release received fromBeijing here today.

The Deputy Commander of East Fleet Rear Admiral Shen Hao was the chief guest on the occasion.

The reception on PNS Shamsheer’s deck was attended by a large number of guests including PLA Navy sailors, diplomats, and media persons.

A cake was also cut jointly by Rear Admiral Shen Hao, Mission Commander Commodore Bilal Nasir Ambassador Masood Khalid, Captain Rizwan Khalid, Captain Saqib Ilyas to mark the occasion and to rejoice the friendship between the two countries.

Ambassador Masood Khalid addressing the guests said that Pakistan and China enjoyed close friendly relations and were all weather strategic partners and had convergence of views and commonality of interests. Both the countries cooperate with each other for peace and security of their lands and oceans and enjoyed strong defence and security ties. He said that he was confident that the visit of Pakistan Navy sailors would not only promote and strengthen the sentiments of goodwill and friendship but also fortify professional cooperation between the two navies.

Captain Rizwan in his speech welcomed all guests to the reception on behalf of the mission commander and the entire crew of the ship. He spoke highly about the ship’s capabilities that was built in Shanghai and hoped that such cooperative initiatives of ship building would continue. He said that he felt tremendous warmth from their counterparts in PLA navy and from the Shanghai people. He said the bilateral maritime exercise aimed to enhance interoperability and develop common understanding of maritime operations as well as develop professional skills at the harbor and sea phases and would involve basic to advance level warfare and gunnery firing practice.

Rear Admiral Shen Hao speaking on the occasion extended his warm welcome to the Pakistani naval fleet under the command of Cdre Bilal Nasir and said that the visit of the fleet had provided another precious opportunity to the two navies for face to face communication and further promoting and deepening the existing friendly cooperation.
