President Mamnoon Hussain has said that operation in Karachi would continue till complete elimination of terrorism adding that the situation of the city is returning to normalcy.

The President stated this while addressing the Ceremony of Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry 3rd Achievement Awards here in Karachi on Thursday. The President said that the nation should remain optimistic that the country would progress. The process for improvement in the situation of the country has begun and the entire nation should support this process, remarked the President.

The President said that economic stability has become national agenda adding that all institutions of the state are working in unison to implement this agenda. He stated that the present leadership has made sound decisions by correctly determining its priorities keeping in view the ground realities. As a result of better strategy of the government, the state bank has further reduced interest rate adding that it would result in enhanced exports, increased investment, improvement in economic indicators, and better employment opportunities for the people. The President noted improved economic indicators have provided a solid foundation for stabilizing the national economy. The President observed that not only national but international institutions are also acknowledging the improvement in the country’s economy which indicates that Pakistan’s international ranking is improving.

The President observed that positive results of operation Zarb-e-Azb are accruing under such circumstances the entire nation should stand by the government and armed forces of the country for attaining economic stability and restoring law and order. He hoped that economic corridor project would be a harbinger of economic stability and prosperity.

On the occasion, the President distributed achievement awards and medals amongst companies and individuals who had performed better in different sectors. Congratulating the award winners, the President expressed hope that they would continue with their excellent performance in future.
