Federal Minister for Finance Mr. Muhammad Ishaq Dar called on Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif at PM House earlier today.

The Minister informed the Prime Minister that the Foreign Exchange Reserves in Pakistan have reached the record height of 21 billion US dollars. Out of the 21 billion dollars, 16 billion dollars are with the State Bank and 5 billion dollars are with the commercial banks.

The Finance Minister also informed the Prime Minister that in the Last year the share of State Bank of Pakistan has increased from 3 to 16 billion US dollars.

The Prime Minister appreciated the performance of the economic team lead by the Finance Minister.

The Prime Minister also said that Pakistan is back on the track of economic growth. Political stability, improved security situation and transparency in the public sector governance have contributed significantly in this positive growth. Due to our investments in energy and infrastructure sectors,   Pakistan is now  on the irreversible path of economic development.
