A special ceremony “Quaid-e-Azam aur Bache” as part of week-long commemoration of Quaid-e-Azam’s 139th birth anniversary was held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr today. On the occasion, President Mamnoon Hussain and First Lady Begum Mahmooda Mamnoon Hussain cut a cake along with the school children.
The President said that Quaid-e-Azam considered new generation centre of hope for Pakistan and he had great expectations from them adding that the motto of unity, faith and discipline was preached by the Quaid because he believed that no nation can progress until it has belief in its dreams and goals. During the colorful function, the President and the First Lady mixed up with the children and appreciated those children who recited verses from the Holy Quran and Naat.
The President said that a nation which does not protect its freedom, does not pay attention to ideas of its elders and does not keep supreme its national values then its future becomes uncertain. The President expressed the resolve that the nation would not desist from rendering any sacrifice to protect Pakistan’s freedom, integrity and stability. The President stated that the purpose of commemorating Quaid-e-Azam’s birthday is to impress upon new generation that our history is glorious and our future is bright. The President emphasized upon the children to acquire maximum education, uphold their moral values and bring glorify to their country. The President said that Pakistan came into existence as a result of democratic struggle and now it is the responsibility of new generation to safeguard democracy because only a democratic Pakistan could be a guarantee for our bright future.
Addressing the function, First lady Begum Mahmooda Mamnoon Hussain stated that freedom is imperative for progress and excelling in the world adding that Quaid-e-Azam and our elders made Pakistan for this purpose and now it is our responsibility that we work hard like our elders to strengthen our country, acquire education, better our morals and character and promote tolerance so that we could progress and bring laurels for our country. She advised the children to pray for salvation of our elders whenever they are remembered.
For the first time, the ceremony at the Aiwan-e-Sadr was attended by special children. A child with speech impairment also delivered a speech using sign language which was greatly appreciated.
