PR No. 157Commemorative Ceremony For Peshawar School Terrorist Attack Victims Islamabad: December 15, 2015

To pay homage and commemorate the school children and staff martyred in a brutal terrorist attack on Peshawar’s Army Public School, a ceremony will be held at Keçiören, Ankara on 16 December, 2015, says a press release received from Ankara, Turkey here today.

The people of Turkey stood by Pakistan when the terrorist attack happened on 16 December 2014 where about 150 school children and staff of Army Public School were martyred.

Keçiören Municiplaity and Youth Wing members of the AK Party planted 145 trees on the names of martyred school children of APS at the Keçiören Forest Park.

Moreover, a monument dedicated to these 145 school children of APS Peshawar, whose names were engraved on the monument, was unveiled by Gen Raheel Sharif, Chief of the Army Staff on 12 October 2015.

In the commemoration ceremony, children from Pakistan Embassy School, Pakistani students studying in different Turkish universities, Pakistani and Turkish community, AK Party Youth Wing, AK Party and Keçiören Municiplaity officials, member of civil society and media are invited to attend.

To commemorate the event, different activities are planned that include national anthems, milli songs, documentary on APS by ISPR, different speeches, wreath laying at the monument followed by Dua. Turkish print and electronic media has been invited to provide coverage of the ceremony.
