PR No.261 China Is The Largest Foreign Direct Investor In Pakistan At Present: Prof. Ahsan Iqbal Islamabad

Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reform was addressing the book launching ceremony of “You & Us”, a compilation of stories of development of Pak-China relationship written by former Chinese Ambassadors posted in Pakistan and compiled by present Mr. Sun Weidong, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan.

While addressing the reverent guests, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal said, “Pak-China friendship has seen decades and has grown stronger with the passage of time. This fascinating book has beautifully covered all the basic aspects of a true friendship, i.e. social, political and economic cooperation. We see that Pakistan and China have maintained all these basic ingredients necessary for a strong friendship in complete balance. Example of this kind of mutual cooperation is hard to find between any other countries around the globe.”

“Now that this book has been launched, we are looking forward to strengthen people to people contacts between the two countries and hope to flourish our mutual ties from Geo-strategic to Geo-economic arena,” added Prof. Ahsan Iqbal.

Federal Minister for Planning, Development & Reform, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal was of the view that, “following our history of mutual trust and cooperation, present Pakistani government is playing its active role toward strengthening Pak-China friendship and pursing the agenda to expand mutual cooperation in more spheres of life that would ultimately help us change not only our economic conditions rather bring significant changes in our social sector development in more enhanced and Focused way. CPEC is another major milestone towards fulfillment of this commitment and we are planning that people of both the countries will equally enjoy its benefits as promised by the Premiers of the two countries during signing of the MoU of CPEC in July 2013.”
