PR No.236 Pakistan Becomes Member Of IDLO Islamabad

Pakistan became a full member of the International Development Law Organization (IDLO) on 23rd November 2015 in Rome.

The agreement was signed between Ambassador Nadeem Riyaz, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Italy and Ambassador Michele Valensise, Secretary General of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the depository country for the IDLO Agreement at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

IDLO is an intergovernmental organization headquartered in Rome exclusively devoted to promoting the rule of law. The Organization enables countries to design, reform and strengthen those laws and institutions most relevant to deliver justice, dignity and economic opportunity. IDLO’s work ranges from helping draft a national constitution, commercial law, intellectual property law, environmental law, to every other area of law, national or international.

As strengthening the rule of law and makingthe judicial system more accessible and responsive is a high priority for the Government, Pakistan will benefit from becoming a full member of the organization by contributing to its activities and decision-making.

Pakistan is the 30th full member of IDLO.
