PR No.218 Pm Made A Surprise Visit To Shamkot Village In Khanewal District And Mixed Among Ordinary Villagers ? Islamabad

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif made a surprise visit to Shamkot village in District Khanewal today. While addressing a significantly large number of people happily gathered around him, the Prime Minister said that he decided to reach out to the Shamkot villagers without any announcement because he wanted to find out the problems and issues of the villagers by meeting and mixing among them personally. The residents of Shamkot village raised slogans in favor of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to express their happiness.

The residents of Shamkot raised the issue of sewerage and sanitation on inquiry of the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif directed the District Administration to immediately resolve the issue of sewerage.

Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif afterwards visited Government Girls High School Shamkot and interacted with school girls. The Prime Minister inspected different classrooms; labs; drinking facilities at the school and expressed his concern over the dilapidated condition of different facilities particularly water cooler and electric wiring. The Prime Minister individually asked from school girls about their problems and upon the demands of provision of IT & science labs, maintenance & upgradation of the school building, the Prime Minister directed the concerned officials to provide the required facilities to the school on urgent basis and announced to upgrade the school from Girls High School to the Higher Secondary School. Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif also inquired from the school administration about the requirements of school staff and said that each and every requirement of the school should be fulfilled without any delay. The Prime Minister said that this Higher Secondary School of Shamkot would be given the status of Girls College in future to cater for girls’ education of adjoining areas.
