The Federal Minister for Finance Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar chaired the preparatory meeting for the upcoming 4th Pak-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission here at the Ministry of Finance this evening.
Secretary Economic Affairs Division Muhammad Saleem Sethi briefed the Minister on the preparations for the 4th Pak-Russia Inter-Governmental Commission and the other Ministries and Divisions elaborated issues related to their areas of expertise.
The Minister reviewed the implementation status of the decisions taken during the previous round of bilateral dialogue. The participants shared the proposals for enhancement of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Russian Federation. The Minister expressed his satisfaction with the progress made since the previous IGC meeting and issued directions for making the upcoming IGC session productive and fruitful.
The fourth session of Pakistan Russia Inter Governmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and technical Cooperation is scheduled from November 17-20, 2015 at Islamabad. It will be co-Chaired by the Federal Minister for Finance, Revenue, Economic Affairs, Statistics and Privatization of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Senator Muhammad Ishaq and Director of the Federal Drug Control Service of the Russian Federation Mr. Victor Petrovich Ivanov. This forum provides an institutional framework to adequately address the concerns of both the countries to expand economic, educational, scientific, technical and commercial ties.
