PR No. 136 52.8 Mega Watt Wind Electricity Added To National Grid Islamabad: December 14, 2015

Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Muhammad Asif today inaugurated the 52.8MW Sapphire Wind Power Project in Jimpir Thatta today. Minister of State Mr. Abid Sher was also present on the occasion.

The Minister while congratulating the Sapphire wind power company limited on achievement of commercial operation of its power projects said that the case is an excellent example and can be showcased as model for other to follow. He commended the all the stakeholders for achieving the milestone.

The Minister said that the Pakistan’s southern corridor affords great opportunities for wind energy projects. He said that government has come up with investor friendly policies and hence the sector is much attractive for potential investors.

The Minister and Minister of State visited various segments of the power project. They were briefed by the project management on various aspects of the energy project.
