President Mamnoon Hussain while congratulating General Qamar Javed Bajwa on his appointment as Chief of Army Staff has hoped that Pakistan Armed Forces will continue to attain glory and supremacy under his sagacious leadership, professionalism and expertise.

The President said this while talking to newly appointed General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Monday.

President Mamnoon Hussain said that the country’s defence will become further impregnable under the professional acumen of the new Army Chief. The President commended the supreme sacrifices rendered by Pakistan Armed Forces in fight against terrorism and extremism and noted with satisfaction that successful progress of operation Zarb-e-Azb has greatly curbed militancy and extremism in the country. He added that National Action Plan will be fully implemented to restore complete peace and normalcy across the country.

General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of Army Staff thanked the President for his good wishes and said that Pakistan Armed Forces are fully capable of defending the motherland and will meet the nation’s expectations in safeguarding the country’s frontiers by thwarting all nefarious designs of enemies .
