PR No. 94Two Days National Conference On Human Rights (10-11 Dec. 2015 Islamabad: December 9, 2015

The Ministry of Human Rights , Government of Pakistan and The Asia Foundation are organizing a Two-Day National Conference on Human Rights on 10-11 December 2015 on the occasion of the commemoration of International Human Rights Day.  The Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Barrister Zafarullah Khan will be the chief Guest at the inaugural session of the first day of National Conference. The country representative of The Asia Foundation  Ameena Ilahi will also address the conference on this occasion.

The Chief Guest along with other distinguished participants will sign the theme board prepared in wake of the International Human rights day as pledge to work for the improvement of Human Rights situation in Pakistan.

The conference will be attended by Participants from all four provinces, human rights activities, experts from civil society organizations, representatives of government line departments. The experts will discuss on key human rights issues especially with respect to socio- cultural reality of Pakistan. There are four thematic areas for this National Conference, which includes Development as a Linchpin for Human Rights, Interfaith Harmony for Peace, Diversity Equality and Tolerance, Protection of Human Rights by Strengthening Institutional and Legal Framework. Distinguished experts from the field of human rights are the speakers of the two days conference. The conference will be fruitful in bringing up suggestions and recommendations for improving the Human Rights situation in PakistanA detail report on the event will be published later on by the Ministry of Human Rights.
