PR No. 88Ministry Of Water And Power Forwards Cases Of Electricity Defaulters To Nab For Recovery Islamabad: December 9, 2015

The Ministry of Water and Power has forwarded cases of electricity defaulters whose outstanding amounts are above one lac rupees to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for recovery.

A letter in this regard has been written by the Ministry today addressed to DG (Operation) NAB HQ.

The Ministry of Water and Power also directed all the electricity Distribution Companies to submit defaulters lists having outstanding amounts above one lac rupees and pending more than one year to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for recovery.

It may be mentioned here that pursuant to the ECC decision the Ministry of Water and Power, had directed all DISCOS to give special concession of upto 30% rebate on outstanding electricity bills for the defaulting consumers. A warning was also given that in case of non payment lists of these defaulters shall be forwarded to NAB for recovery and other penal actions.
