The High Commission for Pakistan in London is organizing the “Second Councilors Convention” in Bradford on 12 December 2015, says a press release received from High Commission London here today.

Encouraged by the success and positive feedback from the community after the first “Councilors Convention” of September 2015, the High Commission has decided to hold these Conventions in other cities as well.

The purpose of this initiative is to connect with the Pakistani community through their elected leadership and to encourage integration of British Pakistani Diaspora in mainstream British society. The Convention would also provide an opportunity to celebrate the successes of British Pakistanis in various walks of life.

Themes for the two sessions of Convention are as under:

Role of family as an institution for pro-active and positive participation in socio-economic life in UK.

Role of community leadership in helping youth identify and avail opportunities to excel professionally and to meet societal challenges.

Councilors/Mayors of the region are encouraged to attend the event and make their voices heard on important issues to be discussed there.

The Councilors Convention will be held at the Consulate of Pakistan at Bradford (West Yorkshire BD1 3HT), from 1030 hrs to 1430 hrs.
