“Gandhara-The Home of Civilization” event was organised by the Embassy of Pakistan in Seoul on 9th of November, 2015, to deliver the message to Korean monks, media and academia that Pakistan would warmly welcome them at Gandhara Seminar in March, 2016. Pakistan Envoy Zahid Nasrullah Khan said that by celebrating Gandhara, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif wanted to send a loud message to the world that Pakistan was a liberal country that respected all cultures and religions.

Dr. Min Hee Sik the renowned Korean researcher on Gandhara, Prof Ester Park, and Mr. Kabir, MD PTD, spoke at length on the importance of Gandhara for Buddhism and Pakistan’s commitment in maintaining these ancient sites including that of Taxila. The event drew keen interest from Korean monks who had visited Pakistan, last year, and the audience appreciated Embassy’s efforts of building new cultural links between Pakistan and Korea.
