PR No.36 Lecture At Rikkyo University Islamabad: December 4, 2015

Ambassador Farukh Amil in continuation of the Embassy’s public diplomacy endeavours visited Rikkyo University to deliver a lecture to an audience belonging to various walks of life including academia, civil service and business. The Ambassador highlighted the historical background of Pakistan-Japan relations with emphasis upon political, trade and economic relations between the two countries, says a press release received here today from Tokyo.

The Ambassador dilated upon the initiatives taken by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to implement his vision for regional development, peace and development.

Referring to Pakistan’s longstanding association with United Nations Peacekeeping Operations (UNKPO), he said that Pakistan’s military and civilian officials both men and women had served in the difficult and hostile of the situations in the world since 1960 and rendered sacrifices for world peace and stability. He added that Pakistan has been hosting the world’s largest number of refugees.

The presentation was followed by a lively and lengthy question answer session.
