President Mamnoon Hussain has called upon National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to play a proactive role in eliminating corruption from the country through across the board accountability.

The President said this while talking to Muhammad Imtiaz Tajwar, Deputy Chairman NAB, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Wednesday.

The President said that the scourge of corruption has stunted the growth of country’s economy and institutions.  The President asked NAB to end corruption by adopting a comprehensive strategy encompassing public awareness, preventive measures, strengthening prosecution and effective enforcement of laws.  The Deputy Chairman briefed the President about steps being taken by NAB for accountability of the corrupt.

Mr. Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, Executive Director, National Vocational & Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) also separately called on President Mamnoon Hussain and briefed him about matters pertaining to NAVTTC.  The President directed that training facilities be extended to greater number of youth to expand the base of skilled manpower and reduce unemployment in the country.
