President Mamnoon Hussain has emphasized that Pakistan’s investment friendly policies needed to be promoted and urged the ambassador-designate to encourage Ukrainian investors to take advantage of the immense opportunities that Pakistan offers in diverse areas.

The President said this while talking to Pakistan’s ambassador-designate to Ukraine, Maj. Gen. (Retd) Athar Abbas, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad on Wednesday.

The President hoped that the Ambassador-designate will make concerted efforts to strengthen the friendly ties that exist between the two countries. The President noted that bilateral trade between the two countries has shown increase in the recent years adding that efforts should be made to ensure that the momentum continues to further enhance the quantum of bilateral trade.

The President called for increasing interaction at all levels to further bilateral ties. The President underscored the need to widen people to people contacts and exchange of delegations in trade, culture and education sectors. The President asked the ambassador-designate to focus on image building by highlighting the rich and diversified cultural heritage and democratic and progressive nature of Pakistani society.

The President congratulated ambassador-designate on his appointment to Ukraine and wished him success in discharge of his new responsibilities.
