PR No.09 Publicity And Sensitization Seminar On Helpline For Legal Advice On Human Rights Violations On 2nd december, 2015 Islamabad: December 1, 2015

Ministry of Human Rights is going to organize a Seminar for publicity and Sensitization of Helpline for Legal Advice on Human Rights Violations on December 2nd, 2015. The Seminar will be chaired by Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Human Rights “Barrister Mr. Zafar-Ullah Khan”. The purpose of establishing the Helpline is to provide Legal Advice human rights related issues to the marginalized and vulnerable segments of the society. This helpline is a step towards safeguarding the human rights and provision of justice to masses, a commitment and promise made by Government to the people of Pakistan during 2013 elections. The Government firmly believes to safeguard to public against, inequality, oppression and discrimination. The helpline will not only provide free of cost legal advice on Human Rights related issues to masses but also refer the matter to the concerned quarters and will continue follow up until the grievance is regressed. A referral system involving Mohtasib, Police and Health related institutions will be introduced for swift response. Government is committed to adopt all legal, economic and social frameworks to minimize Human Rights violations”. Ministry of Human Rights lauds the involvement of media and civil society and sought the support of media in spreading the awareness about helpline to masses.
