PR No.20 Minister Of State, Capital Administration & Development Division, Barrister Usman Ibrahim Chairs Steering Committee Meeting On Extension Of Federal Government Polyclinic Hospital Islamabad

Minister of State (CA&DD), Barrister Usman Ibrahim, chaired the steering committee meeting on “Extension of Federal Government Polyclinic” for acquisition of land in Islamabad today.

Dr. Zahid Hussain, Executive Director Polyclinic and Dr. Iftikhar Naru, Joint Executive Director Polyclinic thanked the Minister of State for initiating the long pending matter of extension of Federal Government Polyclinic Hospital (FGPC) which is increasingly becoming inadequate because of growing number of patients. This was a project that was lying in the cold storage for years. We have got the approval of the Cabinet for the extension of Polyclinic only through continuous follow up and interest of the minister, they said.

The Minister directed the Capital Development Authorities (CDA) to submit the demand notice of the requisite amount and to demarcate the land for this purpose so that the development work could be commenced.

Talking to representation of PWD, the Minister said that feasibility study for this project should be carried out for which an amount of Rs. 12 million has already been disbursed to PWD.

He also directed the Planning Commission to disburse 100% amount to the tune of Rs.55.321 million that were set aside for this project.

Technical Evaluation Committee has also been constituted by the Minister to look after the technical matters relating to the project

The meeting was attended by the representatives of CA&DD, Polyclinic, PWD and Planning Commission.

In the end the Minister directed the committee to keep continuous follow up of the issue and directed the stakeholders to expedite the process as much time has been elapsed in the earlier years.
