Taking the cognizance of news published in local press regarding robbery and sexually assault of a visiting expatriate family by the Islamabad Police officials during November 2016, Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar, Senior Advisor Law and Grievance Commissioner for Oversees Pakistanis the Wafaqi Mohtasib called report from Inspector General of Police, Islamabad and the matter was fixed for hearing in Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat.
Before Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar, Senior Advisor Law and Grievance Commissioner for Oversees Pakistanis the police authorities informed that an FIR No. 178 has been registered against the responsible police officials at Police Station and both the accused constables have been arrested. . Report further revealed that recording of CCTV has been taken from the Command and Control System, Safe City and robbed money has been recovered which would be handed over after legal formalities. The statements of complainant, accused constables, official of Safe City as well as two eye witnesses have been recorded. The accused have been sent to judicial custody by the court. Challan is under preparation and will be submitted in court for further proceedings. Beside that departmental proceedings against the accused constables have also been initiated.
Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar, Senior Advisor Law and Grievance Commissioner for Oversees Pakistanis directed the Islamabad police to inform the Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat regarding progress of both the proceeding judicial as well as departmental on regular basis. He also appreciated the efforts of high police officials who had taken action without any delay and arrested the police officials along-with robbed money.
