President Mamnoon Hussain Wednesday said Pakistan gave utmost importance to its relations with Ukraine and was committed to strengthening bilateral relations in fields of trade, information technology and infrastructure. Talking to Ukraine’s defence minister General Stepan Poltorak here, the President stressed the need for enhancing trade volume between the two countries and expressed hope that impediments in way to provision of trade products to Pakistan would be removed. President Mamnoon said Pakistan was interested in promoting ties with Ukraine in the field of information technology and infrastructure and also sought expertise in related fields.

The President emphasized on relaxation of visa regime between the two countries to boost economic relations. He also called for close collaboration in education and research besides strengthening ties in the fields of sports, culture, human resource development and exchange of labourers.

The Ukraine’s Defence Minister said he was impressed by the development of Pakistan’s defence production sector and was interested in benefitting from the expertise.
