PR No. 209 WAFAQI MOHTASIB WOULD LAUNCH INSTANT REDRESSAL SYSTEM FOR RESOLUTION OF PUBLIC COMPLAINTS IN 15 DAYS IN ALL FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DEPARTMENTS Islamabad: November 23, 2016

Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar Senior Advisor Law / Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis said that Mr M Salman Faruqui (Honorable Federal Ombudsman of Pakistan) will inaugurate the first ever establishment of instant public complaints resolution mechanism on 24-11-2016 which has been introduced in all Federal Government Departments. According to him, as per instructions of Wafaqi Mohtasib Secretariat all Federal Government Departments have established their complaints resolution cell and have appointed Complaint Grievance Officer within their Departments for resolution of public complaints within 15 days. Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar Senior Advisor Law / Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis Federal Ombudsman said that the complaints system of Government Department has also been inter-connected with Ombudsman Complaints System for early resolution of public complaints. He said that in case the complaint would not resolved within given time of 15 days then the system of Federal Ombudsman Secretariat would intervene for hearing of public complaints. He said that this Federal Ombudsman instant complaints resolution initiative would be unprecedented and breakthrough for early resolution of public grievances and would also make accountable to the Federal Govt departments to respond and to resolve public complaints in 15 days. He said that through implementation of this system, positive image of government departments would be spread all over country.   He also said Federal Ombudsman is Pakistan’s premier administration and governance watchdog that seeks to ensure high standards of governance, accountability, and efficiency, providing speedy and free of cost justice to the citizens and the core objective of the Institution is to redress and rectify any injustice through maladministration of federal government agencies and their functionaries. Hafiz Ahsaan Ahmed Khokhar Senior Advisor Law / Grievance Commissioner for Overseas Pakistanis said to ensure quick disposal of citizen’s complaints, Federal Ombudsman offers flexible options to complainant whereby they can lodge their complaints by hand, by post, by fax and email, online and through Skype. He finally concluded that focal persons of more than 200 Federal Government Departments will participate in tomorrow’s meeting.
