Mrs. Martine Dorance, Ambassador of France called on Rana Tanveer Hussain Federal Minister for Defence Production in his office at Islamabad. Federal Minister cordially welcomed the ambassador. They exchanged views on matters of mutual interest and enhancing cooperation in defence production.
Both the sides have shown interest to make rapid progress in the fields of science, education, research and technology innovations in addition to heavy industry and related products. Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain said that both the countries have a lot of scope and potential for mutual cooperation in variety of fields.
During the meeting it was decided that negotiations will restart where there have been hurdles in the past. Ambassador appreciated the role of Pakistan Army against the war on terror and praised the courage and bravery of Pakistani forces in operation Zarb-e-Azb.
French ambassador thanked the minister for his time and exhaustive discourse on the matters of mutual interest and utmost importance for the two countries. She also appreciated the active approach and diplomatic demeanor of the worthy minister. She hoped that the minister will play a vital role in strengthening the ties between the two countries. She invited the Minister to the illumine dinner hosted by French Embassy in Islamabad in the honour of students studied in France.
At the end of the meeting it was mutually agreed upon to identify areas of mutual interest to strengthen the relations between the two countries. Minister also invited the French defence representative to attend IDEAS-2016.
