Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mr. Furqat A Sidikov called on the National Security Advisor Lt. Gen. ® Nasser Khan Janjua this morning. They discussed ways to promote bilateral relations in multiple area between the two countries.

The Uzbek Ambassador said that his country always considers Pakistan as one of the first and foremost friends of Uzbekistan. He also added that Uzbekistan is very keen to promote cooperation with Pakistan on regional security and combating against transnational threats. He also reiterated that Uzbekistan attaches great importance to the expansion of mutual beneficial relations in different areas including trade, economy, investment and people to people contact.

The National Security Advisor said there is no doubt that both Pakistan and Uzbekistan share many common values of Muslim brotherhood and are tied with each other through deep historical, religious and cultural bonds. They both share a joint vision of greater future. He added that both countries have developed political relations and are now more than eager to cooperate in other areas as well.

The Uzbek Ambassador acknowledged Pakistan’s efforts to bring peace and stability in Afghanistan and in the whole region of South Asia. National Security Advisor told him that Pakistan firmly believes that through regional cooperation much better results can be achieved in our fight against terrorism. Both agreed to establish and consolidate direct connection between the two countries including direct information sharing.

National Security Advisor also offered condolence and offered fateha on the death of Uzbek President Karimov.
